History of Osage Gardens Organic Farm
A small, family farm that is dedicated to environmentally friendly sustainable agriculture and serves as a valuable component in helping to maintain the agricultural heritage for Colorado and the country. Osage Gardens wholesale greenhouse operation started in January 1992 by selling tomatoes and basil to local grocery stores. Osage Gardens was founded by Tom and Sarah Rumery. They started with one greenhouse and gradually worked up to five greenhouses on their original property. Now
Osage Gardens owns 26 acres of certified organic land and currently farms more than 2 acres under greenhouse cover. They have 22 product lines of culinary herbs: arugula, basil, lemon basil, purple basil, Thai basil, bay leaf, chervil, chives, dill, edible flowers, flat leaf parsley, kaffir lime, lemon grass, marjoram, mint, oregano, poultry blend, rosemary, sage, sorrel, tarragon, thyme, and are a Solid business success with double-digit sales increases recorded each year and a current work force of 25 full-time or part-time employees.
