Our History

Osage Gardens founded by Tom & Sarah Rumery in January 1992!  Tom and Sarah started by selling tomatoes to local grocery stores and restaurants.  They were growing a few basil plants on the side but quickly realized that there was a high demand for fresh cut basil!  This led the farm to specialize in fresh culinary herbs.  After 10 years the farm expanded onto a new piece of land located on the Colorado River between New Castle and Silt. Osage Gardens now grows over 22 different varieties of culinary herbs (for a complete list, click here). In 2010, feeling a strong desire to interact more with their local community,  they opened  The Little Red Farm Store in order to sell their vegetables directly from the farm.  They also have a year round free choice CSA Program called Fresh Eats.   They continue to distribute their organic herbs and vegetables widely around the state.
